Josie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Josie has earned several certifications, including the Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Child and Adolescent Grief Counseling Specialist (CGCS-CA), and Certified Clinical Child and Adolescent Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP-CA). She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Association for Play Therapy. Josie has clinical experience in a variety of settings: school, community, outpatient clinic, and more. She is a previous Clinical Director of an outpatient practice. She is passionate about utilizing neuroscience and trauma informed care to support young people’s emotional, behavioral, and social development. She enjoys working with children and families and uses play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention), and mindfulness in her therapeutic practice. Josie specializes in early intervention with the littlest patients (ages 2+), child developmental trauma/attachment work, and childhood anxiety disorders. Josie has completed several trainings in evidence-based, trauma-focused treatment modalities, including TraumaPlay, EMDR, and TF-CBT. Josie believes in using a compassionate, strengths-based approach that focuses on building strong, trusting relationships first--with both kiddos and grown-ups. When not working, she enjoys taking long walks with her therapy dog in training and animal assisted therapy dog, Winnie!
